More California homeowners than before desire a basement to be part of their new home plan. It's also becoming a common request in commercial building. Basements are an excellent "green choice." For one thing, the surrounding earth keeps the basement temperature constant. It's cool in the summer and warmer in the winter than above ground buildings. Therefore, less fossil fuel is required to keep the same amount of space comfortable.
